INTRODUCTION
My paintings over the past twenty-five years are a result of a need to travel a different path. From art educator over four decades, to retirement and now full time arts practitioner. The works record the experiences of journeys taken, and the observations made that have no starting point in education. They explore the surfaces and shapes of the built environment and record the landscape from many explorations. A move from thirty years of assisting, informing and encouraging others to make art works. Having worked in Nigeria and Kuwait and travelled extensilvely throughout Europe and the Middle East, the paintings have new inspiration, the colours and surfaces of a different landscape. The most recent works, “Disconnection”, are based on the relationship between people and place over the past ten years.
